Music & Poetry

19:00 - 21:00

One orchestra and some poets in an amazing space

The strings of Studio Symphony orchestra will play Elgar's lyrical Serenade for Strings (which lasts about quarter of an hour) alternating with poets from the Verbal Arts Centre and John Hewitt Society making up a programme that will repeat approximately every half hour. If you've never had the courage to go to a full concert or to listen to a poetry reading, this is your chance to listen to as much or as little as you like - you won't need to sit still and it won't matter if you applaud between movements. And at the same time a team from the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society will show you the amazing space that was Riddel's Iron Warehouse - it has been described as an industrial Globe Theatre.
