Culture Night Belfast has become one of the highlights of Belfast’s cultural calendar. Last year’s programme saw over 250 events and an audience of 65,000 people, all within one night. This year, Culture Night Belfast will take place on Friday 16 September, with the peak of activity taking place between 1pm and 10pm. The hub of activity will be in the Cathedral Quarter where the streets and thoroughfares will be energised and transformed for one big party. On Culture Night, venues, galleries, artists’ studios, historic buildings, cultural organisations, churches and many more will open their doors to invite the public to explore what they do and enjoy free performances. Events can be anything from swing bands to street choirs, interactive storytelling to samba dancers and talks on just about anything. There will be also be a host of on-street activities and events taking place in the public squares, outdoor areas and pedestrianised streets of the Cathedral Quarter. It’s a night of adventure like no other!Culture Night is for everyone to enjoy and all Culture Night events are free to partake in.
After the huge success Culture Night Companion Tours over the past few years, we are continuing to offer the bespoke tours for groups that have never attended Culture Night before. Once again we hope to engage with individuals and groups who may benefit from more focused and tailored engagement with the event. For those who do not normally access cultural or arts events in the city centre we hope that the tours will be a ‘way-in’ to accessing the wonderful cultural activity Belfast has to offer.
Our experienced guides will work with community leaders to ensure the tour is bespoke to the groups’ interests, age range and specific aims.
Tours depart from the University of Ulster, York Street entrance from 4pm or 6pm and last for approximately 90mins. Free transport to and from the city centre is available for groups. The times of the tours are flexible so if neither of these times are suitable please let us know.
